Topic

Quantification of the crop protection products brought into the bee colony and reduction in the colony's influx of active substances by agricultural measures

Abstract

The objective of this module is to assess the influence of conventional agriculture (chemical crop protection) with respect to the confrontation between active ingredients and bees or bee colonies, and to reduce drastically the import of active substances that have been applied to rapeseed blossom by using suitable additives to pesticides and modifying technical devices for applying pesticides to crops. Further benefits will be, among others, refinement of the active-agent adhesive used when pesticides are applied to crops and of the amount of effort used to apply pesticides, thereby easing the tension between crop protection and apiculture.
