Impact of multifactorial influences on the single bee: investigation of immune response and injury thresholds
Abstract
Module 1 seeks to increase our understanding about the modulation of immune defence and vitality of the honey bee through multifactorial environmental influences. The aim will be to investigate experimentally the impacts of pesticides, nutritional deficiencies and pathogens using two different approaches: either each stressor in isolation or stressors presented in different combinations. Thereby, data will be generated with direct relevance to enhance apiculture.
